THANK YOU TO ALL BUYERS AND BIDDERS IN OUR SALE. We greatly appreciate the support of everyone involved. Please let us know if we can help with any questions in the future.
We are selling 10 bulls and 8 open heifers. The sale is on November 13 at 11:00am at the farm at 3466 Lowesville Rd, Roseland, VA. Our sale format is simple and has worked well. All cattle have a base price. On sale day, buyers check in and get a buyers number. Buyers place write their number next to the bull(s) or heifer(s) that they are interested in. Cattle with more than one buyer number listed will be auctioned off at 11:00am and will be sold to the highest bidder. Cattle with only one buyer number listed will not be auctioned off, and the buyer gets the animal at the base price. Buyers should write their number next to any animals they are interested in. Placing a buyer number next to an animal number does not require the buyer to bid if they already purchased their cattle wants and needs earlier in the sale. Any bulls that did not have a buyer number listed will be available immediately after the sale at the listed base price and thereafter until sold. Heifers will only be available sale day. Any heifer that did not sell on sale day will be put back in our replacement pen and no longer be for sale. Phone bids are welcome for buyers that cannot be at the sale in person. We will write your buyer number next to the cattle that you are interested in and will call you at 11:00am when the auction starts.
The bulls were developed on the farm in a grass pasture and fed Accuration to supplement their forage. The bulls grew very well and turned out nicely. They all walk and travel well and are sound footed. They were vaccinated for all respiratory viruses and 7 way vaccine pre weaning and boostered again at weaning and were dewormed. When yearling weights were taken, they were vaccinated with Bovi-Shield Gold FP5 L5 for protection against respiratory and reproductive viruses, and were dewormed. The heifers are from our replacement group and are top of the line. There are 5 open yearlings and 3 open spring born heifers. The yearling heifers grew exceptionally well on mostly grass since weaning. They only received 6 lbs. grain per day and had good yearling weights and body condition. The spring weaned heifers have great genetics.
All bulls and heifers have been DNA tested and have genomically enhanced EPDs. The incorporation of DNA data adds approximately 25 progeny reports to their record and increases the accuracy of the EPD. How great is that, to buy a bull or heifer with the equivalent of 25 calves born by them and data reported? The DNA testing also provides parentage verification. So we are confident that the pedigree is correct. We have all had a calf or two born early or late and wondered if it is sired by the A.I. or natural service breeding. DNA sampling helps with that. We also tested for homozygous black. Our cattle are backed with as much information as we can gather. Our cowherd is managed on an all forage program. We do managed intensive and rotational grazing. You can count on cattle from us to be easy keeping on grass.
Thank you for your interest in our cattle. Mark Campbell and Family
